Join us for a 10-day/9-night culturally immersive trip to the jewel of Africa - Ghana. We'll start in Accra, immersing ourselves in the history of significant landmarks before heading inland to the garden city of Kumasi - heart of the Asante Kingdom. We'll visit the famed kente weavers and wood carvers then head to the historic slave castles of Cape Coast before ending our journey back in Accra.
Accra (3 nights)
Arrive in Accra and orient yourself to the energy that is this dynamic city! You'll get a crash course in bargaining (think African print, waist beads, etc) at Makola's open air market before we visit the Kwame Nkrumah museum, Independence Square all while making sure to enjoy each evenings vibrant nightlife!
Kwahu (1 night)
We'll head up the mountains to the hometown of ACC Founder to enjoy a slower pace of life. Here we'll have the opportunity to hike, canoe and visit a famed fertility waterfall. We'll visit with ACC Tours women entrepreneur beneficiaries to discuss all things business and witness firsthand the microgrants they received has impacted their lives!
Kumasi (2 nights)
We'll enjoy Kumasi (heart of the Ashanti Kingdom) with tours of Manhyia Palace (home of the Ashanti King) and traditional villages to see famed Kente cloth weavers and woods carvers in action. We'll perfect your bargaining skills at Kejetia Market, the largest outdoor market in Ghana!
Cape Coast (1 night)
We will follow the emotion laden slave route to Cape Coast - visiting a memorial at the Slave River. We'll tour Cape Coast Castle and walk its historic beach. We'll do a morning visit to the rain forest canopy walkway at Kakum National Park.
Accra (2 nights)
After a week on the road - we'll return to Accra to finish your last minute shopping and reflection on our trip.
